WHAT PART OF "IT'S ALL ABOUT 'THE THREAT'"
ARE YOU NOT GETTING?

May is "Motorcycle Awareness Month" ... and here is the only "Motorcycle Awareness Message" you can rely on:
ON ANY ROAD ... an "average person" thinks twice about turning in front of an 18-wheeler, but thinks nothing at
all about turning in front of a motorcycle. WHY? Because an 18-wheeler is larger and "easier to see" than a
motorcycle? Is that why? NOPE! It's because they know violating the right-of-way of an 18-wheeler can KILL
them, but they have little reason to fear violating the right-of-way of a motorcycle.
Perceived danger trumps discretionary distraction: So they respect and consequently WATCH FOR "the threat".
IN ANY FIELD ... that same "average person" thinks nothing about crossing the path of a half-ton Angus heifer,
but will scramble a hundred yards out of their way to avoid a fifteen-pound rattlesnake. WHY? Because a
slithering diamondback is larger and "easier to see" than a half-ton heifer? Is that why? NOPE! It's because
they know violating the right-of-way of a rattlesnake can KILL them, but they have little reason to fear
violating the right-of-way of a hapless heifer.

So again I ask, what part of "It's All About 'the Threat'" are you not getting?
Staging rides in memory of sister __________, passing the hat for the family of brother __________, building online
shrines for mother __________, forming 501(c)(3) foundations for father __________, and even passing stiffer
penalties laws named after long-time ridin' buddy __________, have had as much impact on the issue as pissin'
on a prairie fire.
