Greetings Freedom Fighters,
Short notice, and yes, the legislative session is upon us
Your lobbyist reports that HB137 is scheduled for a committee hearing that starts at 8:30am Thursday morning, it appears to be the second item on the agenda.
It did not appear on the committee agenda until lat night.
This falls into the 'danged if you do', 'danged if you don't' category for us. On one hand, most of us do not plan to fall subject to the penalties prescribed in this bill. One the other hand if we turn the other cheek today, we are liable to get kicked in the pants or run over from behind tomorrow, so the time is here to beg the a question all too familiar to us
? Why target motorcyclists ?
Not only does the bill only target motorcyclists, but they have a full staff report showing that there are laws on the books already for everything in their 'deterrent' legislation.
We owe him one as well in that there has been official and repeated correspondence coming out of the sponsor's office that professes support from ABATE that they do not have. Exactly the opposite remains true as our official position on this bill is hat we OPPOSE it as motorcycle discriminatory legislation.
If you can call or email these committee members, it has to happen today or first thing in the morning.

"The battle for bikers' rights is not about patches, parties or poker runs. We fight to protect the freedom and
promote the interests of American motorcyclists ... to defend our right to choose our own modes of transportation,
attire and lifestyle ... to deter and defy discrimination against us ... and to vanquish those who violate our
rights or right-of-way. And in the end, it will not matter to us whether we won or lost. But it will matter to
us greatly that we fought."--Bruce Arnold
